Orlando’s Premium Outlets: Where Shopping Meets the Outdoors

Orlando, Florida - Review Experience

Stroll through the Orlando Premium Outlets

Sadly, you’re at the end of your Orlando stay.  You've been to Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World. You've truly had an amazing vacation, but the kids want to stay in the hotel pool just a little longer with dad. You want to ‘escape’.  Besides you haven’t even purchased any gifts for yourself or just the right ones for friends and family. You’re looking for quality, name-brand items at bargain prices.  I know just the place for you to go.

With two convenient locations, the Orlando Premium Outlets are based at International Drive (near Universal Studios) and Vineland Avenue (near Disney World).  Both establishments are easily reached via Interstate 4.  With over 150 stores, the Premium Outlets boast top designer names such as Armani, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Roberto Cavalli, Ralph Lauren, and Salvatore Ferragamo (just to name a few). Whether you are searching for sportswear, children’s apparel, shoes, fine leather, luggage, jewelry, specialty items (perfumes and cosmetics), or designer fashions, the Premium Outlets offer all of this and more.

I grew up shopping at the Premium Outlets.  Mom would take my sister and me there to do our ‘back-to-school’ shopping. Most of the time we just had fun; mother-daughters outings.  It was always so easy to find something I liked or wanted to have.

Years ago, the Premium Outlets were referred to as the Belz Factory Outlets. They used to be indoor malls with a cramped feeling and small selection of shopping venues.  As less and less tourists came and the outdated facility slowly began collapsing, the Belz Outlets were eventually closed.  In the early 2000’s, they were re-vamped and today are known as the ‘luxurious’ Orlando Premium Outlets.  With plenty of parking lots and a constant stream of traffic coming in and out of the shopping center, the Premium Outlets are an extremely popular shopping attraction.

Now mind you, this is not your typical mall.  The Premium Outlets were reconstructed to be outdoor malls; an opportunity to enjoy Orlando’s year-round beautiful weather.  While shopping and finding bargains, you also get to immerse yourself in the warmth of the Florida sunshine.  Sounds like a ‘win-win’ situation to me.  Not surprisingly, it is extremely common to see tourists and locals alike taking a break from shopping and lounging in the sun. You’re on vacation, what’s the rush?

For those of you that will spend the entire day at the Premium Outlets, both have large food courts that offer a wide variety of fast-food fare from Asian to Italian to Mexican cuisine. The food courts offer a little bit of everything for everyone.  During the hot summer months, make sure you take the time to stop by A&W or TCBY and get yourself a frozen beverage or ice cream treat!

So, take some ‘alone’ time during your Orlando vacation and enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Orlando Premium Outlets. This is a shopping experience not to be missed.
