Take A Step Back In Time At Johnny Rockets
The Original Hamburger
Johnny Rockets is a burger joint offering a classic all-American experience. The restaurant is located at The Pointe Orlando, which is a large outdoor shopping center hosting many eateries, entertainment, and shopping. This particular restaurant has an atmosphere very much like what you would have found in a 50's or 60's soda shop. The founder, Ronn Teitelbaum, opened the first one of these unique restaurants in 1986, claiming that everyone deserved a place where they can escape from today's complicated world.
The meals consist of traditional Americana foods, with a primary focus on the hamburger – in varying forms to suit every taste, of course. Toppings include varying cheeses, mushrooms, lettuce, onion, pickles, special sauces, tomato, and bacon. Other main courses include rocket melts, Philly cheese steak, chicken, cold sandwiches, hot dogs, and salads.
Meal starters and sides include traditional fries, onion rings, sweet potato fries, chili bowls, cheese fries, bacon cheese fries, and wings. For dessert you have the choice of apple pie Ala mode, perfect brownie sundae, or a super sundae.
There are even special meals for the children, in a size that they'll be able to eat – full of the delicious kid friendly foods they love. Your little ones have a choice of mini hamburgers, chicken tenders, mini hot dogs, or grilled cheese.
Shakes & Drinks
Drinks include a variety of different sodas, lemonade, ice tea, and milk. Of course, you may want to splurge on one of Johnny Rocket's world famous shakes, which are created in a true soda shop style! You can choose from original shakes and malts, deluxe shakes and malts, super deluxe shakes and malts, and ice cream floats. Flavors include vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, banana, black forest, Butterfingers, chocolate banana, coffee, mocha fudge, orange dreamsicle, cookies and cream, peanut butter, strawberry banana, and much more!
The most unique thing about Johnny Rockets is the atmosphere, which is reminiscent of what you would have found in a burger joint or soda shop back in the 1950's or 1960's. The restaurant, however, doesn't limit themselves to any particular decade, so the possibilities are truly endless. The staff is dressed in old fashioned soda shop garb, as well, which just adds to the atmosphere.
Upbeat music plays, and you really never know what is going to happen. During one trip to Johnny Rockets, I watched all of the servers dance to a disco hit. My family thoroughly enjoyed it – my daughter, in particular, who went so far as to dance with them.
Johnny Rockets offers a very unique, Americana experience. If you want to go somewhere where you can take a step back in time and just relax with some good food, this is not a stop you'll want to miss.
